The pasture holds its breath before light
There is an hour, just before the sun clears the oaks, when the whole pasture seems to wait. The grass is still. The road is quiet. Nothing has been asked of anyone yet.
Maybe that pause is a kind of grace: a small invitation to rest before the day begins. We need not have everything figured out to welcome the morning. We can simply be present to it.
